Well, I like them both but I prefer Mario 64, it might not have the most amazing graphics but it has a lot of good gameplay and a range of different levels. Sunshine has the graphics but all the levels are too similar.

I agree, Mario 64 has a lot more variety, plus I HATED Sunshine's underground areas.

I hated Sunshine's secret stars, those levels annoyed me so much.

I too have to agree with Mario 64. It showcased the Mario foray into the third dimension and it had much diversity in the game also in every aspect. Mario Sunshine had more graphics and levels and a new mechanic, the water pack. But the majority of the game was virtually the same. That is the say it is more tried and tested this time around, not as much impact impression wise.
